June

This year's opening month have been characterized by cold and windy Weather, the first three weeks was the hard part with northern winds and rain combined with very low temperatures. The river has had a great flow and the early salmons went on the cold river deep and quietly. Last week the weather changed, and we got the "25-30c sunshining all day" type of weather that salmonfishers hate. June catches in relation to the last 3 seasons is average, but included salmon that has been hooked and lost, there have been more action than the journal shows. With 25 salmon lost (some of very good size), reminds us about the 2006 season with only 11 salmon landed in June and a total seasonal catch of 200 salmons.
